In general, vessels such as Pilot Vessels, Fishing Boats and Work Boats have a tendency to capsize rather than sink vertically like SOLAS-size ships. When a vessel capsizes, LSA might not be released as intended until the vessel is upside-down, increasing the risk of entanglement in the vessel’s superstructure.

The List-Angle Detection (LAD) Control Unit can activate an ERU at a predefined list angle or by the push of a button. The HM-0461-L is a complete kit for installation with an automatic activation list of 80 deg. 

24V emergency power.

IP66 class.  If mounted outside of bridge or wheel-house the release switch shall be mounted in a weather-protected enclosure with minimum IP67.
